Our Team – Local Experts You Can Trust

At Exeter Plumbing, our team is more than just a group of plumbers — we’re locals, just like you. We live in the Southern Highlands, we raise our families here and we take pride in supporting our community every step of the way.

We believe the best way to provide exceptional service is by hiring people who know the area and care about the people in it. That’s why our team is made up of skilled tradespeople who live right here in the Southern Highlands. We’re proud to employ locally and support regional job creation. Our plumbers, gas fitters and admin staff all call the Southern Highlands home — and we’re proud to be growing our team right here.

Investing in the Next Generation - Supporting Local Schools and Apprenticeships

Giving young people the option to build a rewarding career without leaving the area is something we care deeply about. Whether it’s through a school program, a first job as an apprentice or ongoing mentorship, we strive to give local kids a chance to succeed — right here in the Highlands.

Exeter Plumbing partners with several schools across the Southern Highlands to offer work experience placements for students who are interested in trades. These programs provide valuable, real-world exposure to the plumbing industry — helping students decide if this is the career for them. We welcome students from all schools such as:

- Bowral High School
- Moss Vale High School
- Chevalier College
- Oxley College
- Southern Highlands Christian School

Many of these placements have led to local apprenticeships and we’re proud to employ several young apprentices who started out with us through school-based programs. By mentoring the next generation, we’re investing in the future of our trade and our community.

When you choose Exeter Plumbing, you’re not just choosing quality workmanship and prompt service — you’re backing a business that invests in people and strengthens the community for generations to come.

About Aleks - Owner of Exeter Plumbing

Aleks Berzins is the founder and heart behind Exeter Plumbing, established in 2013 to deliver honest, high-quality plumbing services to the Southern Highlands.

A lifelong local, going to Exeter Public School and then Tutor House, Aleks combines deep community ties with a strong work ethic built over years on the land and in business. But Aleks's story isn’t just about pipes and plumbing — it’s also one of legacy, loyalty and love for his hometown.

Aleks grew up working alongside his grandfather at Marlie Draught Horse Stud, a historic Southern Highlands property dedicated to preserving and working with traditional draught horse breeds. When the time came to choose between taking over the stud or pursuing an opportunity to row competitively at Princeton University in the U.S, Aleks followed his heart and stayed in the Southern Highlands. His decision to remain in the Highlands wasn’t just about family — it was about continuing a way of life that means something.

Today, Aleks still runs Marlie Stud, where he breeds and works draught horses, keeping the heritage alive while raising his three daughters.

Through Exeter Plumbing, Aleks has created a company that not only delivers top-quality service but also gives back. He’s passionate about supporting the next generation — offering work experience placements to local high school students and employing local apprentices, helping to keep trade skills strong and employment options open for young people in the region.

From Bowral to Bundanoon and beyond, Aleks is known for being approachable, fair and committed to doing things the right way. Whether he's fixing a burst pipe, mentoring a young apprentice or hitching a team of horses, Aleks brings integrity and pride to everything he does.
